Concubine by Marina-B Concubine by Marina-B
This doll was one of the first dolls where I started to make my own jewelry/headpieces. I took a jewelry making course and this (headpiece) was the first I made.

Concubine by *Marina-B. The "Imperial Concubine," an exquisite porcelain ball-jointed doll made by this deviant who also created her entire wardrobe and jewelry. Her richly hued garments are lavishly embroidered with thousands of crystals, pearls, garnets, and seed beads. The artist studied silversmithing and fabricated the doll's silver headdress, set with rubies and garnets, and also her sterling silver necklace and six bracelets set with garnets. Absolutely must be seen in fullview. Suggested by ~lightningflash and *BishopMaple. ( Suggested by LightningFlash and Featured by Kitten-of-Woe )

I'm not the biggest fan of female dolls (they just don't really appeal to me) but she is very lovely. And the jewelery is beautiful and well made. Good job!

It's so stunning how rich the details and and the overall design appears. Given the scale it's even more astounding. The doll is so tender and fragile and she appears very lifelike in some ways, while still being clearly a doll - nothing less and more.
Beautiful, you have all my respect.

Gosh, the cabochons in the headpiece are amazing. And such an old-fashioned face! I can totally see this character in sepia photograph from the late Victorian era, with some kind of scrolly text about 'The Mysteries of the East' or something.

Sooooo gorgeous. <3
